Ngaruawahia High School Soccer

As was expected, the contest between Yellow and Green, the two unbeaten teams, was evenly matched in the final round of the Ngaruawahia High School soccer tournament. Yellow took the initial advantage with two quick goals but Green pegged them back and equalised minutes from the final whistle. This leaves Yellow as the tournament winners on goal average.

Match results: Black 3, Red 1. White 2, Blue 2. Yellow 2, Green 2.

The final table reads: Yellow (won 4, drew 1, lost 0) 9 points; Green (4, 1, 0) 9 points; Black (2, 1, 2) 5 points; Blue (1, 1, 3) 3 points; White (0, 2, 3) 2 points; Red (1, 0, 4) 2 points.

The new term’s tournament, involving 10 teams, commences on Wednesday June 6. The standard of soccer within the high school has grown appreciably and the following has increased, neccessitating an increase in the number of teams. Each new team will be captained by a member of the school’s first eleven.
