Only Two Games in Seven Weeks!

Waikato Division 1

Having the advantage of individually superior ball skills, Cameron beat Ngaruawahia 1-0 in their first encounter of the season. Being only their second game in seven weeks due to cancellations and Chatham Cup games, Cameron made the most of their game-less inteval in strengthening their squad. New signings from Hamilton of L. Chee, W. Ritchie and R. Chow give extra bite to their offensive and this was in evidence against United.

United and Cameron meet again this Saturday.

Missed Penalty

Waikato Division 3

A missed penalty cost Ngaruawahia their points against a strong Tokoroa team when they went down 1-2.

Putaruru 1 was defeated by lowly ranked Te Kuiti 3-1, While Huntly Thistle beat Putaruru 2, 4-0.

Only one point separates the top five teams – Teachers, Tokoroa, Kinleith, Ngaruawahia and Putaruru 1 with Huntly lying seventh.

Junior 7th Grade

Another fine display was turned on by Ngaruawahia when they defeated Marist C 7-0. Tommy Connors (2), Danny Rooney (2), Chip harrop (2) and Fred Timothy scored the goals.

Junior 9th Grade

The team was beaten 3-4 by Hamilton West but was by no means disgraced. The referee had to award two penalties for unknown infringements before he could guarantee “his” team a win.
