Captain of the “Greens”

Jeffrey McLaughlin, because of his natural ability and leadership, has been given the responsibility this season of captaining the Ngaruawahia 4th division “A” team. This division is restricted to players under the age of 16.

Jeff’s drive and determination is contagious and his ability to work his team both on attack and defence is a great asset. Although having the ability to play second division his presence in the fourth has strengthened the confidence of his team-mates.

A decided asset is his left-foot banana shot, which, although not used to any great extent so far this season, has the ability to deceive opponents with its curling flight.

Jeffrey drive himself hard in each match, and his loyalty to the club off the field is as apparent as his approach to play on the field. For his efforts towards the club this season he has won himself a soccer ball donated by the club.
