Local Season Commences

Waikato Divisions

Ngaruawahia United have entered two teams in local competition this season, the 2nd Division and the 4th Division.

There are no new faces among the 2nd Division sides with Ngaruawahia meeting Hamilton, Cambridge, Otorohanga, Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti, Matamata, Waikeria and Putaruru.

The 4th Division team, newly formed by Ngaruawahia come up against Wanderers, Claudlands, AFFCo, Hamilton and another new team, Fraser Tech.

Although the average age of the Ngaruawahia 4th Division team is under 14, their enthusiasm to compete in the under 16 grade is commendable. Young players with a future to have joined the club are many and among those that show promise are Taffy Tengu, Jeffrey McLaughlin, Michael Rooney, Trevor and Bruce Cotter, Kerry Barakat, Alistair Bell, Mark Prendergast and Brian Jacobs.

The 2nd Division has a home game against Te Kuiti at 2.45 p.m. with the 4th division travelling to Fraser High School to meet Fraser Tech at 2.00 p.m.
