Abysmal Display of Football
Victory to Affco Rangers but points to Ngaruawahia United! That was the story when Ngaruawahia defeated Affco 7-0 in the Waikato 3rd division soccer competition.
Affco commenced the game with eight men, that later dropped to seven when injury dropped one man, and almost outplayed a full United team. Affco provided the sparkle as they played 100 percent football for the full 90 minutes while United adopted their ineffectual “kick-and-rush” technique. Affco, despite being outnumbered, were seldom pressured for the ball, and were allowed to control play for sustained periods.
At one stage “Paddle Paws” Dennis was nearly caught napping and pushed away a snap shot from Affco for United to clear.
The match against Teachers this week promises to be a walkover for Teachers if the same style of play is adopted by United.
