Nine Goal Margin

Waikato Division 3

All the expected teams went through on Saturday and some slight re-arrangement has been seen on the table. The top eight are starting to pull ahead of the rest and some hard matches will have to be fought before the lower placed teams can graduate.

The biggest score of the day came when Ngaruawahia and Affco met at Ngaruawahia. Six goals in the first half and three in the second saw the home side Ngaruawahia come clear with a 9-0 win.

Frequent deliberate hand balls by Affco were ignored by the referee who must have felt sorry for the losers, who were being shown some good football. Peter Vela worked hard in the forwards and was well-rewarded with his goals. Jeff McLaughlin, Michael Rooney and Tony Armstrong all contributed to the tally.

The negative aspect of play was the reaction of several Affco players to being given the run-around by the younger boys of Ngaruawahia.
