Ngaruawahia to Contest Junior Soccer

Ngaruawahia’s first season in the junior soccer competition commences on Saturday morning. Parents and children have shown the interest and Ngaruawahia United are fielding three teams. These are under 13 (7th grade), under 11 (9th grade) and under 8 (12th grade). They have been practicing at the Waipa School under the direction of junior coach Glen Gray and are all fired up for the season.

For the parents and friends who are keen on seeing the “littlies” play, the following is the draw for Saturday, April 19.

7th grade (division 2) Ngaruawahia v. Marist C, at Galloway Park No. 3 ground 11.00 a.m. ; 9th grade (division 2) Ngaruawahia v. Vardon at Vardon Road School, 10.00, a.m. ; 12th grade Ngaruawahia v. Forest Lake at Forest Lake Road School at 1.100 a.m.

Teams will be playing on a home and away basis with their home grounds being at the Ngaruawahia High School where two junior and a senior ground are available. Draws and results will be published in the Huntly Press and the Waikato Times. Cancellations will be broadcast between 8.00 a.m. and 8.30a.m. on station 1ZH and Radio Waikato, on the Saturday morning.
