Rex Nightingale’s Best Game

Waikato Division 2

Hamilton soundly outplayed Ngaruawahia at Muir Park on Saturday and took the two competition points with a 6-1 win. Hamilton’s superior ball control and distribution had their opposition’s defence in knots.

Rex Nightinglae played perhaps his best game of the season and it was not to his discredit that six goals powered by into the net.

Ian Todd salvaged some embarrassment from the Ngaruawahia team when he clinically rose to a cross from Bill Burston and placed the ball over the keeper’s outstretched fingers into the net for the best goal of the match.

1-11 Loss

Waikato Division 4

Tommy Gavin scored for Ngaruawahia in their 11-1 defeat at the hands of Claudlands Rovers.

Ngaruawahia tired badly in the second half and Rovers stroked the ball about at will. Rovers also had a height advantage of about one foot per player. However, Ngaruawahia has gained two match points so far this season.
