Soccer Tournament
The chance of taking $40 has attracted eight teams from around the Waikato in the Ngaruawahia Soccer Club’s second pre-season tournament.
Being open only to 2nd and 3rd division teams it provides a pre-season opportunity for games under competition rules.
The 1972 winners, Teachers/Varsity, have not entered a team this year but still the matches are going to be tough. The draw has not favoured any team this year and each match will be one worth viewing. The Tournament is being held March 17 and 24 on Ngaruawahia’s home ground, Centennial Park, by the Waipa School. Elimination matches will be played on the 17, with semi-finals and the final on the 24.
The draw for the 17th is: 9.30 Cambridge v Wanderers; 11:15 Te Kuiti v Otorohanga; 1.00 Hamilton v Matamata; 2.45 Claudlands Rovers v Ngaruawahia.
