2015 Junior Team Letter

Kia Ora Koutau,
“Welcome and Happy New Year to you all. For those of you who don’t know who I am Freda Walker, and I am the Junior Coordinator for the NUAFC Junior’s. This is the fourth year I have been involved with the junior’s and my third year as coordinator. Last season we had a few major changes that were put in place to offer the best services that allowed players and their families to experience the best of the football culture and community. One major change was the development of the NUAFC Junior Committee. With the help of this committee we were able to achieve great things, like the development of the ‘Little League’ Competition and all of the fundraising / sponsorship that we gained, plus my personal saviour was all of the moral and general support that I received. You know they do say “Many hands make light work!” and I definitely agree. It is my hope that we keep achieving great things and my passion is to make it happen, but in saying that I will need help and support along the way. So if you or if your family could offer your time and effort to support our cause in anyway it would be greatly appreciated. On that note, if you have any questions or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me.”

News
First and foremost I would like to bid farewell to the Brown family, Bianca, Emily, Belinda and Glenn AKA Brownie. It is with great sadness to say good bye to such a devoted, passionate and loving family; who have supported our football community in too many ways to note. They will be dearly missed and I wish them the all the best with their future endeavours.
Me te mihi nui mo o manaakitanga, tena rawa atu koe, nga mihi ra mo nga ra kei mua i te aroaro.
In appreciation of your kindness many thanks, and all the best for the future.

On a brighter note I would like to welcome and congratulations to Liz Saunders for her new role as co-coordinator and motherhood. Liz is expecting a new addition to her family this May and I’d just like to say “Thank you Liz, you are going to be an AWESOME mum!”

Now back to business, the muster was a success and the great kick start to the season. We meet a lot of new people and it was awesome to see a lot of familiar faces too. Thank you to those of you who registered their children and welcome to the NUAFC Juniors 2015 Season!
COACHES AND MANAGERS
We are in need of ‘Coaches and Managers’ for the following Teams:
Nuggets – Coach,
Net Busters – Manager
8th Grade Ninjas – Coach,
9th Grade Netters – Coach,
If you think it would be something you would be interested in doing please contact me ASAP.
Without Coaches and Managers our teams cannot play the season.

2015 PLAYING FEES
This year our fees have increased. We have added the cost of medals and photo’s for every player to receive at the end of the season. In the past these costs were not included in the fees to keep fees at a ‘manageable’ amount for parents and their families to pay. However, this meant medals and photos were not given. Last year we were lucky enough to have been sponsored by ‘PUKE COAL’ Huntly. Unfortunately this year brings new challenges, hence the extra costs added to the fees. We endeavour to do fundraising and to gain sponsorship but in order to do so we need volunteer support to make it happen as we do not wish for the children to miss out on their team photos or medals. So if you are interested in helping please contact Liz or myself.

All fees need to be paid by the end of the School Term 1 – Thursday 2nd April, 2015 or alternatively a ‘Payment Arrangement’* has been made.
*Please contact me to make ‘Payment Arrangements’ as these needs to be in place by Thursday 2nd April, 2015.**
**Please Note: Any players that have not paid their fee’s or have not set up a payment plan by the due date above will be stood down from playing any games until payment has been made or an arrangement has been set up.

The ‘Little League’ – Competition
The ‘Little League’ – Competition is a competition that we have organized for the junior 5th Grade – 7th Grade Teams. The draw setup is very similar to the others Grades and all games will be played at our fields, Centennial Park Ngaruawahia. Competition details will be made available asap.

2015 PRIZE GIVING
Prize giving takes place at the end of the season in September or early October. Every child will receive a participation certificate team photo and a medal. As with every year for the ‘Senior Juniors’ (9th grade to Open grade) the following trophies are awarded; Player of the year, Sports person of the year and most improved. If you received a trophy last year would you please hand it back in to me asap, Thank you.

FUNDRAISING
We would like to make Prize giving as much of a fun day as possible so we are looking for Volunteers to help with fundraising or sponsorship.

WEBSITE
I also encourage all of you to visit our website on a regular basis for any updates, team draws and information. One another note I would like to welcome Kelly Stone who will be our Junior Photographer this year alongside our resident Club Photographer / Media-man Sandy MacDonald. They both do an amazing job shooting the kids in action on home-game days but are always looking for photo contributions (especially for the away games), so if you are a happy snapper and would like to share your pictures, please contact me and I will pass them on.

FINALLY
Good luck to our season ahead and we look forward to seeing you all out there supporting our children. Please feel free to contact Liz or myself if you require any further information or have any questions.
